A delicious Kiwi opened far, far too early...

2008 Kumeu River Chardonnay Mate's VineyardVery tight on the nose, repeated on the palate. E v e r y t h i n g feels tight-knit in this jucie. Once the air and warmth does it job you get a mixture of lemon, yellow apples together with dried apricot, or maybe a hint of peach. Very pure texture, crisp and mineralic core with considerable tension throughout the tasting experience. On the finish very dry, firm acidity with a hint of bitterness and again, very...tight. Tasted better day two but still very firm. Did not go well with food but was performing better while just sipping the wine. This will probably expand and blossom with some more time in the bottle - sadly it was my one and only. 89+ points.
